Chris Campbell Gardiner’s Bio
Chris Campbell Gardiner, born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, received his BFA from Alberta College of Art in 1995 and MFA from the University of Regina in 1998. He has been the recipient of numerous grants and has exhibited throughout Western Canada. His work centres around conceptual and formal themes of containment, privacy and censorship, the transfiguring of anxious content into visual and philosophical apparatus in the form of hand made, ritualized objects designed to imprison/transform anxiety/trauma. His work is in the collection of the Saskatchewan Arts Board, the University of Regina President’s Art Collection and other private collections. He is married to artist Shannon Berard-Gardiner and foster dad to Matthew, a young man with complex needs who’s lived with him and Shannon since 1997. He currently lives and works in Saskatchewan Beach, Saskatchewan.
